A1igned Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Jigar Mody, doing business as A1igned ("A1igned," "we," "us"). They govern your use of www.a1igned.com, and the A1igned web app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older. We do not verify age. You may not use the Service if we have previously banned you, or if the law prohibits you from using it. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms, and "you" includes that business.

2. Accounts

  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Do not impersonate anyone or create fake or misleading identities.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us right away at support@a1igned.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
  • One person, one personal account, unless we allow otherwise.
  • You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@a1igned.com (see the Privacy Policy).

3. The Service

A1igned helps people find each other based on what they need and what they can offer: work, mentorship, friendship, support, and other connection types. The Service also surfaces opportunities, events, and resources. Features include profiles, needs/offers posts, AI-assisted search and matching (Connect), a personalized feed (Align), city information (Impact), connection requests, one-to-one messages between connected members, and an AI Support assistant. The Service is in beta. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully, stalk, defame, or discriminate against anyone, or post hate speech;
  • impersonate people, misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation, or run scams, fraud, or phishing;
  • post sexually explicit content, content involving minors, or non-consensual intimate content;
  • solicit money, sell goods or services deceptively, or send spam or unsolicited mass messages;
  • collect, scrape, harvest, or download other users' data, or use the Service to build a competing database;
  • use bots, automation, or scripts beyond normal personal use, or get around rate limits or access controls;
  • reverse engineer, probe, or test the Service's security, or interfere with its operation;
  • try to manipulate matching or rankings, or prompt-inject or abuse the AI features;
  • upload malware, or content that infringes someone's intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • use the Service for anything illegal, or to promote violence or self-harm;
  • contact someone who has declined or blocked you, or use information from the Service to contact people outside it in ways they have not agreed to.

We may investigate violations and take action as described in Section 10.

5. Your content and license

"User Content" means anything you submit: profile details, photos, needs and offers, posts, messages, search prompts, feedback, and Support messages.

  • You keep ownership of your User Content.
  • You give A1igned a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (to our service providers only, to operate the Service) license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (for example, format it, create embeddings, or summarize it), display, and distribute your User Content to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service. This includes sending it to our AI providers as described in the Privacy Policy and showing your profile and posts to other users according to your settings.
  • The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except: (a) for content others have already received (such as messages you sent); (b) for backups and server logs kept by our providers, which are kept only for their standard limited retention periods as described in our Privacy Policy; and (c) as needed for legal compliance.
  • You confirm you have the rights to post your User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or the law.
  • We do not have to monitor User Content, but we may remove or restrict any of it at our discretion.

6. AI features and outputs

The Service uses automated systems, including third-party AI models (currently OpenAI), to parse your requests, generate matches and rankings, suggest wording, summarize information, choose feed and Impact items, and answer Support questions.

  • AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate. Matches, compatibility signals, suggestions, opportunity listings, and Support answers are automated suggestions. They are not professional, legal, financial, medical, employment, or safety advice, and they are not verified facts about any person or organization.
  • Opportunity, event, and resource listings come from public web sources we do not control. Check details (dates, eligibility, legitimacy) directly with the source.
  • You are responsible for how you use AI output and for any content you publish, including AI-suggested text you accept.
  • Do not enter sensitive personal information into prompts.

7. Connections and interactions with other users

  • You connect with and meet other users at your own risk. A1igned does not run background checks, does not verify most user identities or claims, and does not supervise conduct off the Service. Any "verified" indicator means only what it says at the time, and is not an endorsement.
  • Use caution, especially before sharing personal, financial, or location information, sending money, or meeting in person. Meet in public places and tell someone you trust.
  • Any arrangement between users (jobs, mentorship, services, transactions, or relationships) is solely between those users. A1igned is not a party to it, an employer, an agent, or a guarantor.
  • Report suspicious or abusive behavior by emailing support@a1igned.com.

8. Third-party services

The Service may link to or rely on third-party sites and services (for example, Google sign-in, LinkedIn, and opportunity listings from the web). We are not responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.

9. Fees

The Service is currently free. Certain features may have usage limits. If we introduce paid features, we will present the pricing and any additional terms before you are charged.

10. Suspension and termination

We may remove content, limit visibility, or suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if required by law. Severe violations can result in immediate permanent removal. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections 5 (the license survival terms), 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, A1IGNED DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; THAT MATCHES, AI OUTPUT, OR LISTINGS WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE; OR ANYTHING ABOUT THE CONDUCT, IDENTITY, OR INTENTIONS OF ANY USER.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, A1IGNED AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnity. You will defend and indemnify A1igned against third-party claims arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

13. Dispute resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@a1igned.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Muscogee County, Georgia, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise (including mandatory consumer protections).

15. General

  • Changes. We may update these Terms. We will give notice of material changes in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the change is required by law or for safety. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept them.
  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • Severability; no waiver; assignment. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
